Which tool fits your cleanup?

TweetXDelete: what the licence includes
TweetXDelete is a Chrome extension for deleting your own posts, replies, reposts and likes from an existing X session. It is available on the Chrome Web Store. The 30 included operations are one shared allowance, not 30 for each content type. The $4.99 launch licence removes the licence quota and covers up to three browsers.
The panel includes a date cutoff for items older than a chosen date, protection for the last seven days enabled by default, and a maximum number of operations per run. It does not include keyword or engagement filters, a date range with both a start and an end, or automatic cleanup on a schedule. For likes, a post's date is not the date you liked it; see the likes guide before applying a date limit.
For posts missing from a normal scan, load the supported data files from your X archive. They are read on your device and are not uploaded. An archive can supply older post IDs, but cannot make an unavailable post accessible or guarantee that every item can be removed.
The extension does not ask you to hand over your X password or connect through an OAuth screen. It acts through your existing session. Licence validation contacts our payment provider; the extension also requests a settings file and can send limited anonymous error reports. Your X password, session cookies, post content and archive file are not sent to our servers. The privacy policy and network request details explain those requests.
Keep Chrome and the X tab open while a run is active. From version 0.4.4 the extension asks your computer not to sleep during a run. Closing a laptop lid, Mac or otherwise, still pauses it until the computer wakes. The engine waits when X limits requests. There is no fixed completion time or guarantee against account restrictions, and changes to X can interrupt a run. Unlimited licence usage does not remove these platform limits.
Cyd and other tools that run on your device
Cyd's deletion guide distinguishes free deletion of all tweets and reposts from paid options that preserve selected items or remove other content. It works with a local database and an embedded browser. Cyd is a relevant free option when you want to remove all posts; paying for TweetXDelete is not necessary for everyone.
DeleteTweets also operates within your browser and offers keyword, date and engagement filters. Its free daily allowance is limited, and archive import is a Pro feature. Redact is another option with processing on your device, described on its how it works page. Local processing is shared by several products; compare their actual permissions, limits and maintenance requirements.
Subscriptions and credit packs
TweetDelete and TweetDeleter offer recurring cleanup features. Check the deletion quota and billing period separately from whether a plan supports an uploaded archive. XWipe currently sells 100 credits for $4, 500 for $15, 2,000 for $49 and 5,000 for $99. Its credits can be combined and do not expire. This is a quantity of operations, not a single unlimited cleanup. Its web service uses X authorization and can process jobs in the background.
There is no single price range or billing model for every competitor. The cost of using X's paid API is also not enough to tell you what a product charges or whether it uses a subscription.
Before deleting
- Download and keep your X archive as a personal backup.
- Check whether the tool can reach the specific posts or likes you want to remove. Recent timeline access and archive support are different features.
- Review the selected items and test a small batch before committing to a large cleanup.
- Keep any required browser or app open and allow for pauses caused by X.
